The National MLK DRUM
MAJOR for JUSTICE PARADE was started in 1985
and has grown steady every year. It is recognized as the largest
MLK Parade Celebration in the South Eastern United States. The
Parade consistently has garnered 100,000 spectators annually
and has over 125 entrants,
marching bands, floats and many other types of entrants. The
Parade is approximately 2.5 miles and travels thru the heart of
beautiful downtown St. Petersburg, starting at the Tropicana Field
and ends at Vinoy Park.
The MLK Parade Vendor boundaries
within which the special event declaration is to be effective are
two blocks on either side of the Parade route beginning at Third Ave
and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. South, proceeding north to
Central Ave and then east on Central Ave to Bayshore Drive, north to Fifth
Ave Northeast, east to Bayshore Drive Northeast, then to 7th
Ave Northeast and two blocks in all directions from each terminus of
the Parade route, from 7:00 a.m. to
7:00 p.m.
MLK Holiday & Legacy
Association issues a one day special permit to each fee paying vendor along the parade route.
The Permit shall be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the day of the parade.

in order to vend along parade route.
